Each Wednesday join our Sommelier and GM Tim Rawding for a Marsh House Bar takeover!
“Every Wednesday, I will pull some of my favorite wines from our cellar at Marsh House to pour by the glass. I am excited to share with you wines that aren’t often available to taste, and to have conversations that lead to... well, opening more bottles! During the month of December its all about being large and in charge. All of our conversations by the glass will be offered from Magnums. To be clear, that’s two bottles in one. The great wines of the world develop in a different way out of magnum and are often a rare find. But we thought, ‘tis the season. Come discover if bigger is actually better.”
This week featuring: Veuve Fourny & Fils Grande Réserve Premier Cru, Champagne NV
A close Sommelier friend of mine once said that when he’s sad, he drinks champagne. He also said that when he’s happy, he drinks Champagne. Without dragging on our conversation, I quickly picked up on the idea that there is never a bad time to drink great Champagne. At the base of Mount Vertus in the Cotes de Blancs, Veuve Fourny is producing outstanding Champagne from a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. AT $25 a glass, it’s safe to say that my friend would agree it’s a great time to drink Champagne.
