Conversations by the Glass

Each Wednesday join our Sommelier and GM Tim Rawding for a Marsh House Bar takeover!

“Every Wednesday, I will pull some of my favorite wines from our cellar at Marsh House to pour by the glass. I am excited to share with you wines that aren’t often available to taste, and to have conversations that lead to... well, opening more bottles! During the month of February it gets pretty darn cold almost everywhere in the continental US except Florida and California. With that said, we are taking our conversations to warmer seas around the globe and pouring our favorite island wines. Yes these are made from grapes grown on an island and yes we would much rather be there than battling ice storms and sketchy winter weather in Nashville. But the wines we are featuring are faced with their fair share of challenges, being grown on volcanic soils, steep cliffs and blustery winds. The results? Pure magic. Come enjoy a few glasses and attempt to get transported.”

This week featuring: Domaine Maestracci, E Prove, Corsica 2017

Domaine Maestracci presents a different perspective on the Vermentinu grape from their windswept vineyards amongst the mountains of Corsica. Winemaker and son-in-law to the Maestracci family, Michel Raoust ensures a salty and edgy wine by keeping the juice in contact with the skin for just one day. The result is energetic, muscular and somehow elegant. At $10 a glass, you will learn that this is more than a great French wine….it is a Corsican wine.
