Each Wednesday join our Sommelier and GM Tim Rawding for a Marsh House Bar takeover!
“Every Wednesday, I will pull some of my favorite wines from our cellar at Marsh House to pour by the glass. I am excited to share with you wines that aren’t often available to taste, and to have conversations that lead to... well, opening more bottles! During the month of March we are focusing on my favorite region in the world, chablis. At the northern tip of Burgundy, not far from the slopes of Champagne, Chardonnay is put under constant stress of frost, potential hail and unpredictable weather patterns. But when the stars align and the limestone rich soils of Chablis give Chardonnay the energy it needs, there is no greater white wine for the table. Come enjoy $1 happy hour oysters alongside some of our favorite expressions from Chablis every Wednesday in March!”
This week featuring: Louis Michel & Fils Montée de Tonnerre, Chablis 1er Cru 2017
The south facing slopes of Montée de Tonnerre sit just below the Grand Cru vineyards of Chablis. Chardonnay grown here is bold, concentrated and full of energy. Louis Michel captures that energy by holding his wines in steel tanks, focusing the acidity and brightening the fruit. At $20 a glass, Chablis this good does not come along often.
