This week featuring: La Mamette, Côtes du Jura
When one thinks of “natural wine” they often gravitate towards the Jura region of eastern France. Named for the Jurassic Era, when the limestone soils of the vineyards were formed, Jura will often produce white wines made in a very oxidative and nutty style, similar at times to sherry. But this Wednesday we are uncovering a fresh bottling of Chardonnay that is somewhat atypical of the region in style, but very typical of a natural wine in it’s Biodynamic farming practices and minimal intervention. At $15 a glass, this Chardonnay is a pleasant surprise for early Spring.
